Olympics Causes Shortage Of Fireworks For UK Events Industry

It transpires that the Chinese authorities clamped down on the movement of fireworks for three months during the build up to the Olympics for fear of any adverse publicity towards the nation in the event that there were any explosive accidents during the shipping process. Although this restriction has now been removed it has lead to many pyrotechnic display companies running short of fireworks for their events. Not good news when one considers that Guy Fawkes night is only six weeks away! The person that your correspondent spoke to said that this situation demonstrates the importance of pyrotechnix display organisers building a strong relationship with a Chinese middleman as the guy in question had been tipped off by his Chinese contact back in January and had managed to order sufficient stock to avoid being caught out by the restriction.
